Membership within the WSWPA shall be restricted to individuals employed by water utilities situated along the western shoreline of Lake Michigan that facilitate the treatment of Lake Michigan waters, including relevant tributaries, for the purpose of providing a potable public supply.
Personnel not affiliated with a utility, including but not limited to consultants and manufacturers, are permitted to attend meetings and engage in programs in the capacity of guests. However, such individuals are ineligible for formal membership, shall not be appointed as officers, and are precluded from participating in elections.
Membership shall be maintained without the assessment of dues. Financial requirements for the Association shall be satisfied through registration fees obtained during scheduled meetings. Eligible expenditures shall encompass costs directly related to the conduct of meetings, official correspondence, formal notifications, and such other initiatives as authorized by a majority of the current elected officers.
